The Uppers, Middles and Dinos did a water investigation project to see if all waters are the same.

First, there was a lesson on water sourcing, differences between fresh and salt water, what is clean or dirty water, the molecular structure of water, how it works, what it’s made of & water’s properties and peculiarities. As well as, the meaning and importance of PH (Potential of Hydrogen).

Then, we purchased 12 different bottled waters and got a cup of our drinking fountain water and the water from the tap.

Taking a sample from each source, we tested the PH of each and came up with a surprisingly wide variety of results, which ranged from 4.5 to 10.5 on the PH scale. We then went through each one and explained what the results meant and what that variety of water with that particular PH should be used for.

Understanding water is an important part of health, water conservation, water safety, and overall is important to understanding and preserving the beauty of our wonderful water planet.
